So...Big-o dented my hood by closing it with a socket on my intake (oops) and as a result I’ve due some repairs or monies. I am opting for the monies since its a small dent and the autobody shop advised against trying to color math the paint.

Kinja'd!!!

With that being said, it looks like $670 may be coming my way in the near future and now I have a problem...what do I do with said monies? To solve this dilemma I’ve decided to take a page from the DeMuro handbook and solicit your advice, carefully tally the voices and then do whatever I want regardless.

So here are the things I was thinking about:

ARB fridge $835 - 100 (rent to own program) = $735

Kinja'd!!!

Slee shortbus or other front bumper - $800-$1000

Kinja'd!!!

New front seat leather and foam - ~$500-700

Kinja'd!!!

Parts and Stuff - $670+

Kinja'd!!!

Wise investments in pork bellies and widgets - $670

I would buy recreational equipment. My 29er hard tail is in need of a new set of wheels. Also an additional pair of skis, you can never have to many.

If you are really offroading your truck, then the bumper. Add a few $$$ for a decent 8000-12000 lbs winch.

We can live without comfort, you got a couch at home if you want to get comfy.

you can get a cheap 12v fridge/cooler from Walmart for under 100.00

Will not be buying a cheap fridge, that’s a definite. I will be getting an ARB fridge at one point...its just a matter of when.

The fridge is so good, and that bumper is sexy, and parts is parts, but I think I’d go for the seats because it’s an improvement you’d appreciate daily.

lol, you’re talking to a Canadian shopping for a Baja/Prinsu/Frontrunner- Our dollar is at a 14 year record low, so let’s buy a roof rack and have it shipped across the continent..

Actually I think Jason at Cruisin’ is going to get a call..

it is high on my want list. seat heaters and a pad that thick enough to hide that support beam in the small of my back would be nice.

Also, If i do get a bumper I am for sure getting the harbor freight badlands 12k winch. Sure its harbor freight but I hear from the reviews that its actually pretty good and its always $299 on sale. $299!

I’m a jeeper, so for me it would be a Quadratec

you can basically order part by part and build a brand new cj-5/7 They got it all.

Not sure what to get but now I know what I have a weird inexplicable pop up dent (is that the term?) on my hood towards the cowl that’s been there since I got my car. Someone probably closed the hood with something underneath it. It’s super minor and not noticeable but I noticed it the first time I did a full detail of my car about a month after I got it. Never knew what it was I thought it was something that went wrong during the painting process.

You spend more time in the seats than almost any other place in the vehicle. Spend it on new seats. Cruiserparts has OEM cushions that’ll really make it like new. Our leather cover was nice and factory-tight when we put them on that foam.

you can get a paintless dent man to come take care of it if its small, and for not much money. Since my was so deformed and the paint was craking my paintless guy said “hells nay”

sadly, my factory cover on the DS side is shot. The leather seam under my but has long since given way due to contracting leatheritis.

They also did this...which Im pissed about

Kinja'd!!!

It doesn’t look like much (its a foam gap filler between the top of the rad and the body) but I guess its super important for cooling, otherwise the air hits the rad and blows up past the foam and you loose a significant portion of the air pressure. sadly, there is no replacement part for it...still trying to figure out how to get that solved.

I am tall, so big wheels make it much more proportional for me. I wouldn’t ride anything else. Previously I rode 26” wheeled mtn bikes because that was all they made. I had really long stems and really tall seat posts. What my go to bike is right now. Ready for something a little more fun to huck.

You can splurge on the other stuff any other rainy day...

But axe yo self- when else are you going to want to invest in new upholstery? Or will you just put it off until you generate multiple rips and decide those autozone seat covers won’t be so bad for a little while?

OR you can be greeted by virgin leather thrones appropriate for your love and investment whenever you open the door, and worthy of your family’s admiration and rear ends.

I got to ride a tk team bike at a bike park. It was amazing, it could go over and off of anything.... it was also $8k

I’m probably not as tall as you but I found the bike to lose a lot of agility going from 26 to 29. I like having a smaller frame, i seems much easier to weave around the trails. I also dont think i can corner as fast.

First, spend $60 on paintless dent repair. A good PDR guy will have that out in 10 mins.

The poetry of your words has touched me...not in the same way new leather seats might...but still. I DO really want new seats eventually. but I think I could sneak that one past my wife on any given day easier than the fridge...its a tough call.

I want the front bumper but as I have no vehicle appropriate for it nor the moniez I shall live vicariously through you.

And if anyone says “save the money” I suggest you install the bumper then give them a love tap.

The prudent thing would probably be to invest it, but eff that. Get the bumper. You’ve already been talking about winches, so might as well use it as an opportunity.

Try another guy maybe? I had one on a crease that looked like someone hit it with a center punch and a hammer . I was certain no one would attempt it, and if they did wouldn’t guarantee a 100% perfect repair, or that the paint wouldn’t crack. It took the guy an hour, but he got it out, and it looked far worse than yours IMO.

he came out and said that because the paint had already puckered that he could make it a little better, but not go away

That’s a relatively expensive PR degree being put to practical use for once

The fridge is pretty awesome and now that I think of it is a year round investment...beers and snackums in a ski resort parking lot are just as sweet as on a mountain bike outing. Also it doesn’t take an extra set of hands or a mechanic to install

...but look at those fresh seats you posted. LOOK AT THEM.

That sucks. A while back I (very dumbly) opened the hood on my car when I had the wipers bent up, and scratched off some paint. Goes with all the rock chips I’ve collected, I guess.
